Ocean

Week 6 (February 27)

I love being in the water. If I could, I would be a mermaid. I love to lay on the floor of the pool and look up and see the ripples in the water.

I added three different shades of blue to show the deepness of the ocean. I then proceeded to add some lighter colors to make a base of what is eventually going to be the light shining on the water.

I added more white to create the light. I then added little ripples of white and blue to create the waves of water and used the smudge tool in photoshop to blend it all together.

Afterwards I added small strips of white and smudged it down to make rays of light under the water. I wanted to add something to make it a little more interesting. I added some bubbles, some with detail for the bubbles closer to the viewer. And then tiny white bubbles in the back to show depth.

Eye

Week 5 (February 20th)

Ive always loved to draw eyes. Im always doodling them in my notes, or if Im not sure what to draw, I draw an eye.

First I did a rough draft sketch of the eye.

I then made a new layer and defined the lines and cleaned them up to create an outline. I then proceeded to make new layers to add in eyelashes, the different shades to create depth, and added in highlights to the eyeball.

I then started to add skin tone, shadow and part of an eyebrow to make it a little more realistic and it wouldn't look like a floating eyeball.

Curves

Week 4 (February 13)

This time I wanted to do something abstract and geometrical. This is something that I usually end up doodling and decided to take it a step further. First I make a line and along that line I drew circles.

I keep on adding the circles until it fills up the whole page.

This is where i take it a step further. I add tiny lines to where the ends of the circles meet. I thought this would add some dimension and make it look like there is a light source as it becomes lighter in the center. I then added a new layer and colored it with rainbow colors. I then put that layer behind the the circles.

Coffee

Week 3 (February 6th)

I was trying to figure out what i should draw for the week. I was in a stump. Since I was drinking coffee at the time, I figured, "Why not just draw coffee?". I'm an avid coffee drinker. I wouldn't be able to function without it. Its an important part of my life.

I first started out with a sketch. I drew a box to help draw an ellipsis for the plate that is holding a biscotti.

On a new layer, I cleaned up my lines and began shading in different areas to give it more dimension.

Finally I got rid of my harsh lines and started shading in the table and background to give contrast to make the mug and plate pop out and be more identifiable.

The Bee

Week 2 (January 30th)

Here i was playing around and started drawing hexagons. This reminded me of honey combs in a bee hive.

I started with an out line at first, adding in the bee.

Then I would build up on it the picture by adding a new layer for every color that i added.

First Zen Drawing

Week 1 (January 23)

Sky, Digital, Photoshop CC 2017.

Here is the first time I'm drawing on my computer. I love the night sky so I was trying to draw something similar. Still trying to get used to using a Wacom tablet.
